I found this info at the elstub enterprises music site. After several attempts over the past months (whew), your question spurred me to give it another shot. The lacquer finish is mostly intact with just a little wear in the contact areas and some brown spotting as usual with a lacquered finish on the bell flare. The serial number of the instrument is 556263. There appears to be an abundance of those cornets on the British secondhand market. Your number in one guide indicates circa 1969 and in another, 1975. Most of their instruments are stamped as being made in 'London, Paris, New York'. The 2-20 was a lower end pro model that was made by Besson after they were bought by Boosey and Hawkes.
